Well, who doesn’t love a reason to have a tea party? Especially if it can be pink and pretty and decorated with hearts and roses? So I set about to create a pretty in pink Valentine’s Day tea party! I wanted to make it as pretty as a picture…
Table decor
First off I started with the tablescape. I used a white tablecloth and silver chargers with a white dinner service. I decided to keep the basics neutral so that the other pieces like the teacups and wine glasses could take centre stage.
Then I started adding pretty pink wine glasses – these were given as a wedding gift to my husband and I! The pretty pink teacups with a floral motif were the same teacups I used for Lauren’s Welcome to the World celebration).
I kept my decor simple but sentimental, so that the pieces I used on the table each had a story and could be conversation starters.
For the centre piece I decided on a simple arrangement of roses in three colours – cream, soft pink and bright pink. This helped to add a bit of depth to the other very pastel colour palette.
I also purchased two Le Creuset heart plates which are just gorgeous and help to add to the Valentine theme. They make perfect dishes for serving treats on!
For each place setting I folded a gold foil serviette into a simple heart and topped it with a rose. Simple, yet elegant.
For the tea itself – you can also keep it very simple! I had some pink and white mini marshmallows in a pretty jar on the table as well as some love heart sweets to keep with the theme. Some mini donuts and a beautiful sponge fresh cream cake topped with fresh flowers served as my show stopper piece.
For savoury treats you can serve a few sandwiches with different fillings. Think traditional cucumber, egg mayonnaise or cold beef sandwiches! And you can add savoury scones as well.
