I am always so inspired when looking through Pinterest and Instagram by all of the perfectly organised spaces – from closets to kitchen baking supplies to play rooms…but my favourite is a perfect pantry organisation makeover!
Pantry organisation
Of course it doesn’t help that I have a secret obsession with pantry organisation either! š

The pantry problem in my kitchen
I have a corner pantry cupboard in my kitchen which is the bane of my existence – it just never seems to stay tidy no matter what I do!
Over the last few years I have tried a few different methods for arranging things – but inevitably over time they just keep on getting disorganised…š
Of course – my ideal solution (and one which justifies my hour-long Pinterest searches! š) is to just build a new kitchen – voila! Out with the old – in with the new…fantastic pull out drawers and space savers and organisers…picture perfect Pinterest kitchen!
Ha-ha, I wish! Unfortunately this is out of the question for the moment…(although a girl can still dream, right?) so I’m still left trying my best to keep my current pantry tidy!
With the holiday season just around the corner- and having family coming to stay – I’ve decided that this is an area in my house which I simple have to tackle – and so I decided to start small and organise it shelf by shelf. Because a little bit is better than nothing, right?
But of course – first – LABELS!
Labels
Because who can even consider a pantry make-over without labels, right?
My old labels were practical and did the job – but they certainly weren’t pretty – just hand-written stickers…so I decided to create a few prettier versions!
I designed my labels in Canva, but you could just as easily do beautiful handwritten ones, or get a labelling machine, if you prefer.
I designed three different versions (I ended up choosing with Design 3 for my pantry) and then headed over to my local printing shop to have them printed onto clear vinyl stickers.
Next up was to make sure that I had all my storage containers – I just love the SISTEMA brand – especially for my baking supplies, as it comes complete with a measuring cup that can stay in your container! And of course, when organising a space – uniformity is key! (Although I also secretly have my eye on OXO containers for some of my other consumables…)
Organisation tips and tricks
So – over the period of time in which I have been trying to organise my pantry I have learnt the following:
- Keep storage containers as uniform as possible – this helps to keep things looking more organised.
- Go for easy shaped containers – or ones that are stackable.
- Group similar products together in bigger containers – this also helps things feel less cluttered.
- Label items so that they are easy to find!
- Play around with layout – move items from shelf to shelf until it works for you – this may happen over a period of time (like a week…or a couple of months!) (Or years – in my case! š)
- Ditch the shop packaging (recycle it āŗļø) and use uniform containers … it might seem like a waste of time to repackage everything – but you will thank me afterward, I promise! It is simple enough to cut out the cooking instructions and stick them onto the container – or otherwise make a label with the cooking instructions and stick that onto your container as a more permanent solution.
Stick on your new labels – and voila!
